DO I HAVE TO USE THE CAR DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICING?
I frequently get the inquiry, “Do I have to return my new car to the dealer for regular servicing, such as oil changes, tune-ups, or adjustments in order to maintain my new car warranty”? There is a common misperception that the warranty will be void if work is done by someone other than the selling dealer. That is untrue. Let me respond to this query in my column to help you save time and money.
If you do change your own oil, please be sure to take the old oil to a reclamation center for disposal. We definitely want the waste oil to be handled properly so that it does not end up in Florida’s drinking water.
